Over the April school break I hired my 16 year old son to help me transfer many of my verbose story-time posts from our B&B Facebook and Instagram over to the Blog page of our B&B website. I only got him for an afternoon in between our beach vacation, Xbox and basketball, but he made a GREAT start.

“Butterflies rest when it rains, because it damages their wings. It’s okay to rest during the storms of your life. You’ll fly again when it’s over.”

I talk a lot about our “backpack” at the Bird & Bear, as a metaphor for the journey, and how the unique contents of each of our packs equips us to brave the wilderness, and help others who we cross paths with along the way.

This was me yesterday in Central Park NYC repping our Love Better, and this is me back home today writing you with a reminder to Vote.

2 weeks ago I declared that I was as an MFB {Mother F’ing Butterfly}.

Last week I handed out over 100 acorns I had gathered from my backyard, as I told people we were having an acorn week.

Over the last few weeks we’ve been reintroducing you to the Bird & Bear. Today let’s talk about where the spot where we began ~ the barn in my backyard.

We don’t just say we are on a mission to break down barriers and invite more opportunities for intersection, innovation and inclusion we actually do it.
