Welcome Back B&B Blog

Over the April school break I hired my 16 year old son to help me transfer many of my verbose story-time posts from our B&B Facebook and Instagram over to the Blog page of our B&B website. I only got him for an afternoon in between our beach vacation, Xbox and basketball, but he made a GREAT start ~ thank you Bennett!

Writing and our stories are what have carried this brand over the years. Words that connect the dots and have created the language of the Bird & Bear Collective. When my kids were small I used to blog during nap time or in the early mornings before work. It was here when I began to find my voice, separate from the one I had to use for the campaigns and communications at work. Anyone else remember “erin’s bits & bobs”?  It’s still active if any of you are curious!

When I started the Bird & Bear the blogging became FB and Instagram posts, because I didn’t yet have a Bird & Bear website.  And then when we did get a website, I didn’t have the time to blog. The FB & Instagram posts have been our go-to ~ and it’s been working, but they have # of word caps and are so so very temporary.  I can’t tell you how often I have to go back and try to find something I wrote. For years I said I was going to “bring back the blog”, but I just haven’t found the time to make it happen, and I really didn’t want to start all over.

Hiring Bennett to get me started was brilliant. I’ve got a lot more work to do, to retro catch up, but I feel like I have my writing space back, and I cant tell you how good it feels!  Also, it is so good (& humbling) to go back and read some of my old posts ~ they are the true story of the Bird & Bear, filled with the emotions and invitations that have kept this place going.

There will still by typos and run-on sentences, but I don’t have to worry about the word count, and I don’t have to fit everything into these little squares anymore. Keep an eye out for future posts and all of the ways I’m excited to use our revived Blog space to create even more impact here within the collective.

You can find the Blog from our top-menu here on the website (here)
