What would your personality look like in clay?
Join us for a playful and expressive workshop where you'll transform a handmade ceramic mug into a whimsical self-portrait. Using soft clay, colourful underglazes, and your imagination, you'll bring your mug to life with features inspired by you such as glasses, hairstyles, rosy cheeks, freckles, favourite earrings, mustaches, or any little details that capture your personality and spirit.
No pottery experience is required. Your mug will already be made and ready for decorating, allowing us to focus on the most enjoyable part: self-expression. There is no pressure to create a realistic likeness, these portrait mugs are meant to be charming, imperfect, and uniquely yours.
Throughout the evening, you'll learn simple clay techniques for adding dimensional features and decorative elements while exploring color and playful details. Each mug will become a one-of-a-kind reflection of its maker, making this workshop perfect for anyone who enjoys creativity, storytelling, and making something truly personal.
Whether your mug resembles you, your alter ego, or simply captures your mood and style, you'll leave having created a piece that is both functional and full of character.
Once complete, your mug will be transported to my studio to dry and be professionally clear glazed and kiln fired. Finished pieces will be food-safe and ready for you in approximately 3-4 weeks and available for pick up at The Bird and Bear Collective.
