This Mother’s Day

It was a nest & rest Mother’s Day weekend in the shop, on the sidelines and at home .. with a SURPRISE explore & soar Mother’s Day gift of flight to visit my daughter in Ireland (leaving tonight).

Last week, I found this sweet robin nest by our front door ~ with 3 eggs ~ and I have 3 kids. The eggs hatched over the weekend, and it feels so much like a new phase of family and parenting is hatching too.

I’ve been a Mom for 20 years (my oldest turns 20 in August). I can remember the Mother’s Day before she was born like it was yesterday. The wild love, hope, excitement, and anticipation for the family I had been praying for since I was a little girl.

Tonight I’ll fly to Ireland to visit my oldest daughter, meet her people and embrace a few full circle moments…

I found out I was pregnant with her, when my husband and I were last in Ireland 20 years ago!

While there, this oIdest daughter (me) will also spread some of the ashes of my Father, who passed away a year ago. One of his biggest dreams was to live in Ireland, on a farm with cows and sheep. He passed before that would ever be.

I’ll say goodbye to a parent who throughout his life, and in the end, didn’t choose me. I’ll close a sad and painful chapter in healing, while affirming an everlasting hope that my children will forever know that I will choose them always ~ in every single way ~ throughout every single day.

Together we are braving this gigantic wilderness of love and life, as we nest, rest, explore and SOAR.

The next 20 years has hatched ~ it’s time to take flight!
