A New Shop Chapter

We are thrilled to share that as of this week the Bird & Bear’s Boutique has officially transitioned to a brand NEW in-store platform & online store! This has been a long time coming for our award winning “shop that’s not a shop, but has a shop” and it’s a really important and tangible milestone for this growing brand.

As I’ve told you many times, Covid pushed the Bird & Bear into product and our brick & mortar journey WAY before we were ready … and it’s been a very winding & wild ride for years.

For the first few years the goal was just to keep the lights on {seriously}.

Over the past year we have been working to improve the in-store retail experience of the downtown brick & mortar space. We put color & pattern on the walls, added our first ever retail shelving, built a signature pop-up corner, expanded the product footprint in the shop, and even won an award for best boutique.

Then came time to improve the inventory & online journey, which {iykyk} is NOT Erin’s strong suit (AT ALL). Over the summer this scary path intersected, via the digital world of Instagram, with the @pinkpigeonboutique when I saw the news that they were closing their store. I reached out to personally connect with the owner Ashleigh, and to tell her that if she was ever interested in bringing her experience and passion for retail on a new path, that the doors to the Bird & Bear wilderness were open. We stayed in touch over the summer, and as the kids went back to school, she stepped into the Bird & Bear with her backpack full of retail experience.

Through the power of partnership and the strategic alignment of gifts, talents and purpose, I am proud to say that we have turned the page to another new chapter at the Bird & Bear. You’ll experience it at the register when you visit in-store and NOW you can finally shop most of our products online too.

We have some work to do to upload of all of the products from all of the amazing local makers to the online store, but it is happening.
