The Unedited Page: Writing for Clarity and Joy

What if writing felt less like a task and more like an experiment?

Inspired by Suleika Jaouad's The Book of Alchemy, this generative writing workshop is for anyone who's ever felt too busy or too blocked to write. Through a series of playful, low-stakes prompts and gentle constraints, we'll set aside the pressure to get it right and rediscover writing as a space for curiosity, clarity, and surprise. No experience necessary — just a willingness to experiment.

This session is especially for participants building businesses and creative lives of their own, who know that clear thinking often starts with putting pen to page — even when there's no time for it.

Annie Brubaker holds a PhD in Literature and has taught writing at Wellesley College for over 16 years. Through her writing consultancy, she works with writers of all kinds to build confident, sustainable, and joyful writing practices.

Annie supports writers who want a consistent editorial partner for major projects—from college essays to articles, book chapters, grant applications, and strategic communications. She offers developmental feedback, line editing, and project guidance grounded in two decades of teaching college writing.
