Coffee & Canon Reflections

This weekend we kick-off another photography season at the Bird & Bear. Before we do, I thought I’d take a moment for reflection and gratitude on what has been a 10-year journey of photos at the barn.

It was 10 years ago that our family moved to this home, with it’s little backyard farm and a barn that has been the twinkle-light extension of our life in our community.During that season, that was mostly postpartum blurr after the birth of my 3rd, there also began an entrepreneurial, “side-hustle”, creativity stirring. Through the encouragement of friends, Wes and the kids, I decided to lean into it, and give it a go.

This fall marks 10 years since that first “official” photography invitation to photos at the barn.

For the first 5 years, way before Bird & Bear was even a thing, it was just me, my Canon, a cup of coffee, and all of the beautiful families I had the pleasure of photographing on Saturday and Sunday mornings at the barn. Since then, and in the quest to create the Bird & Bear Collective, I’ve put down the camera, and have shifted to opening the opportunity for photographers near and far to share their gifts and talents in this space.

We are really grateful for the Bird & Bear’s photography roots, and how they have spread each season, with love, captured memories, twinkle lights, barn swings, and so many of you. Thank you for being such a special part of the Bird & Bear Collective!

We can’t wait to step into our 10th season with you.
