Beautiful Views with my Favorite Crew

Climbing my way back into Monday after a few days of beautiful views with my favorite crew in Acadia.

This was the first time I’ve had my entire family in the same car together in 2026. That sounds like a weird thing to recognize when I’ve roadtripped from Iceland to Indiana with parts of my family earlier this year ~ but this was the first time all 5 of us were together in the same car. It was also my last week with all teenagers (13, 17 & 19) ~ my oldest turns 20 later this week.

When I was a teenager my dairy farming, turned tractor salesman father became a lobster trap salesman for a company based on the coast of Maine. We lived in rural central Massachusetts and 2+ hours from the closest ocean ~ nevermind all the ports and harbors up and down the east coast. I remember clearly how family time became less and less possible during those teenage years ~ and eventually ended when my parents divorced the same year I turned 20.

This weekend we turned another full circle chapter for this family of five who may not have as much family time as we used to due to college, sports, jobs, friends and all those teenage things ~ but who know how to lock-in and make the most of it when it counts.

I was so glad to be back in this part of Maine, and to see it and feel it in every beautiful way. I also got to lay more of my father’s ashes with lobster boats on the horizon.
